People with lived experiences invited to help revise state’s addiction recovery program 

SANTA FE—New Mexico Medicaid is inviting people with lived experience of pregnancy and substance use disorder, their family members, and community partners to provide input on revising the state’s Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) as required by Senate Bill 42.

  • Share information about the CARA revision and strategies to identify and support pregnant people and newborns affected by substance use disorder. 
  • Provide details on how to join biweekly work groups that will focus on:
    • Care navigation and linking members to timely and helpful services. 
    • Training health care workers on evidence-based engagement methods. 
    • Ensuring equitable and accessible supports for families.
